Well, i'm sure I'll get massively flamed for this, but here goes. I've got
a set of coil over sleeves sitting here on my living room floor i hope to
install by Friday. They're maxspeed and can be used in conjunction with oem
struts (not that I would but you COULD). They function just like buying the
H&R kit, only you buy components seperately and it costs a LOT less. I've
also got some bilstein sports i'll be putting on. Altogether, it'll cost me
right at 400 bux. I got an awesome deal on the coilovers and an INCREDIBLE
deal on the bilsteins from a friend. Now, I'm sure you'll all say they're
crap, and I shouldn't even put them on, but for the money, it's worth a
shot. I've heard nothing but good things about them and the kit is made
specifically for the gti/jetta vr6, so it's not just a "one-spring-fits-all"
deal. I'll let you guys know what I think as soon as they're on. Let the
flaming begin :)

Official non-flame:
I got Konis and the Ground Control kit 2 years ago, and I love them. The GC
sleeve just slides over the stock Konis, no modifications at all. If your kit is
similar and high-quality, you should be happy. I got everything considerably
cheaper than H&R's, and the shocks are adjustable to boot.
