When I had my setup installed VW Sport told me that the rears were
adjustable like 20mm if I remember correctly (10mm up and down). This does
not efect dampening, but does efect ride height. When I went back to the
stock springs before dialing in the stock height, we had dialed it up to
the top to make sure it was no longer slammed. It then seemed like it would
look at home with Cragars and some Camaros parked near it. It was seriously
jacked up.
Anyway, I had the dealer and VW sport do the adjustments, so while I'd
love to tell you how I did it, I can't. Call Brad at VW Sport or call Aaron
at Neuspeed and they should be able to help you figure how to adjust.
Incidentally, the dialing to stock height was done at Autohaus (my dealer)
as they had the stock specs on hand.

Uwe, on my Bilstein sports the spring perch can be placed in 3 locations.
There are 3 grooves and a circlip. I currently have them on the middle
setting, which resulted in an even drop front to rear.

All bilsteins should have this...

That should have read "the Bilstein Sports on the back of MY car...."

Based on what I'd read, I had expected them to have three grooves. But
they didn't.

The Bilstein Sport shock has ride height adjustments. The adjustment
positions are noticeable at the top of the shock body (where shaft enters
body). Since the HD shock has longer shafts then the Sport, I'm not sure if
they have the ride height adjustments, you should call Neuspeed directly to
get the info. Keep in mind that my Sport shocks were manufactured about
three years ago. I'm not sure if the current model has any adjustment.

P.S.

Uwe, I just saw your post stating that the Sports don't have any
adjustment. About three weeks ago, a friend and I inspected my shocks and
we were looking at the adjustment detents, while measuring my ride height
vs. his stock suspension The truth is out there.
