I have a copy of the new A4 product intro kit. Here is some of the tidbits
for the GTI.
The new VR6 has received the following changes.
Two stage plastic intake manifold.
Increased horsepower
Increased torque
Cast aluminum oil pan flanged to mount to the transmission.
Dual mass flywheel
Electronic throttle (drive by wire) No accelerator cable
New Bosch ME7 Motronic System
Engine specs.
Bore 81mm
Stroke 90.3mm
Compression 10:1
Power 174hp
Torque 244nm (180 ft lb)
Reading about the new manifold is very fascinating. I will scan some of the
pages and post to my site.
