Hi all, just an FYI...

Don't buy the VR6 MAF from the stealer! Get the 2.0 sensor and save $250.

First of all, why would I call VWoA (or VWoC in my case)? I'm not having
any problems with my Mk3. This is just an FYI for the Mk4 owners and
something to keep in mind for future Mk4 owners.

Of course it will work. What's the difference if you buy the whole MAF
sensor with VR6 housing from VW, or somehow buy the very same Bosch part
(just the sensor) and put it in your old housing? The cheap way to obtain
said Bosch part is to buy the complete MAF with 2L housing from VW. Both
engines use the same exact sensor with same Bosch part number. Only the
housing is a different size, which is just a piece of plastic.

This is an old thread, but I have had reason to check it out lately
and I can say with confidence that this works! It saved me $150.
