A word to the wise: The "Whipple front Motor Mount" is not really a
front motor mount. It replaces the bottom rubber doughnut and that is all.
Right above that doughnut, on top of the subframe, is the actual
motormount. I'm sure the Whipple "Mount" makes a good difference, but to
truly replace and get the full advantage of a solid motor mount you must
replace the mount on the subframe. ND sells 'em for ~$220 a pop. If you
buy this mount from ND, you will not be able to use the whipple mount as the
bolt from the solid aluminum motor mount is shorter then the stock mount and
it bolts DIRECTLY to the subframe. Sorry if this made no sense, but I took
some Benadryl about an hour ago and I'm kind of floating on th edge of
sleep!

>Very true but I'm not trying to mislead anyone by calling it a "mount".
Even if I were to call it a bushing the fact remains IT WORKS! On top of
that it is simple, bulletproof, unbelieveably easy to install, and cheap! If
you have studied how the stock mount system works you would see the beauty
of my piece, it limits engine movement without causing undue vibrations. If
you are going to buy the ND mount why would you buy mine anyway? Sorry I'm
sounding so bitter but I feel like someone just insulted my baby. I'm sure
the ND is a very high quality piece, it was just a little expensive for me
not to mention difficult to install compared to my design. That was what
motivated me to design and test so many different designs before I came up
with this one. Sorry if I took your letter the wrong way Abe, I'm a little
defensive sometimes.

Wait a minute Abe, am I not correct in thinking that the "bottom rubber
donut" that the Whipple mount replaces is one and the same as the very
unreliable part known for leaking silcon-slime all over your garage?
Mine didn't fail, so I'm not sure taht's it, but I have it here in my
hands and it certainly does feel like it's full of slime. What's this
part sell for at the dealer?

It does. It eliminated almost all of my shifter-lever wiggles and most
of the engine rocking effects I felt in the gas pedal. The only penalty
is a slight increase in vibration at idle, and you can make that go away
with the mildly bump in idle speed that most aftermarket chips have. It
may not be the be-all and end-all of motormounts, but for a reasonably
conservatively driven car, IMO, no other motormount upgrades are
needed.

Best,

I installed Jason Whipple's front mount the other day, and I've got some
impressions to share. First let me say I'm impressed. It took all of
15 min to install, the hardest part is jacking up the car. It does make
a noticable difference. There is a VERY minor amount of extra
vibration, IMHO not enough to worry about. All controls feel tighter,
more connected. The car seems to put power to the groung better, no
jerkin' around. The biggest difference for me was in shift feel, it was
improved over 100%. My shifter now feels tighter than the rod linkage
in my wife's Cabrio. The shifter now feels like it's actually connected
to something. That alone is worth every penny of the $60. I recommend
it to anyone who's interested.

I put everything together with blue Lock-tite, so I never even
considered re-tightening anything. Should I?

I've installed one on sombody's '98, there's no difference between the
98 and any earlier car. I belive the consensue and/or word from Jason
was that the mount is not supposed to be tight in the radial direction.

I just installed my newly received Turn2 mount today. Installation was very
simple took less then five minutes. I have only driven the car once since
the installation but so far I only feel a slight improvement over the stock
mount. Before installing the mount I gunned the motor at the TB to look at
the amount of movement, then I did the same thing after the install. The
movement of the motor looked about the same. There was less movement after
the install, but not by much. I haven't launched the car hard from a stop to
check for a difference in the amount of wheel hop. I drove around the block
stomping on the gas thinking, less movement of the motor means faster
throttle response but again I could hardly feel any improvement. I don't
mean to be so negative about the product. Maybe I was expecting too much or
I'm looking for an improvement in the wrong areas.

Actually, the new ones are cast in 85a durometer polyurethane. There is
no difference in material, just in color. I used to cut them all by hand
and now i have them cast individually.
