Hello All,

I am very pleased with my Upsolute chip. In terms of peak gains, I saw 6 HP
and 8 FT-LBS @ 5700RPM. In terms of max delta, I saw 10 HP and 11 FT-LBS @
4700 RPM. I have dyno curves for those who are interested.

Also for those interested: After the Upsolute chip I did a Quaife and
lightweight flywheel. All of the gains occured below 3700 RPM--after that
the curves blended together. There was a 2-3HP and 2-3 FT-LB average gain
across the low range. The max deltas over the range were 4 HP and 8 FT-LB.

My current "at the wheels" numbers are 160.6 HP and 158.9 FTLB. The chip
does an awesome job of smoothing out the power--and the car runs through the
revs much faster than it did before.

I am in the Charlotte NC area. A local UPSOLUTE rep did my install so I did
not have to ship my ECU.

Yeah, I just happened upon an Upsolute
service rep in my area.

Same one for the screw type compressor S/C below.

Actually, I have an Upsolute chip right now. They're a bit cheaper
and every bit as good as GIAC. When I dynoed at AWE, I found that
on my car, the Upsolute chip produced a noticeable gain in torque
between 2-2.5k rpm, which the GIAC lacked. Aside from that, both
chips produce equal peak power. Both have passed emissions on my car.
(I sold my GIAC to someone last month, so they're happy with it now.)

I am very pleased with my Upsolute chip. In terms of peak gains at the
wheels, I saw 6 HP and 8 FT-LBS @ 5700RPM. In terms of max delta, I saw 10
HP and 11 FT-LBS @ 4700 RPM. This max delta gain was due to the elimination
of the characteristic "dip" in the power curve at that particular RPM.

As far as the claims of a 17 HP gain, they are most
certainly talking about the max delta and not peak gains. I even had one of
the guys try to compare a cold shitty dyno base run with my best chipped run.
If you look at it that way you might find a 20HP gain or so.

Uh... no. UPsolute chips for the VR6 make the same gains as a comparable
GIAC chip. I've owned both. With TT 2.5" exhaust, my car (with either
chip) put down about 164 hp and 172 lb*ft to the wheels (both on AWE's
Mustang dyno). GIAC claims +8-12 hp and +8-12 lb*ft. That's much more
realistic and probably what I'm seeing on my car. I don't have a stock
dyno, but I've seen other people's cars put down hp in the 150's stock, so I
figure GIAC's numbers are right on. (Not sure about stock at-wheel torque
numbers, though.) UPsolute's claim of +17 hp and +15 lb*ft, IMHO, is bogus.
It's possible they eeked a bit more torque, but nearly 20 hp? Difficult to
believe.
