Well, my Supersprint (SS from here on out) exhaust finally made it in, and I
installed it last Friday. For those that are interested, the build quality
of the SS is unsurpassed. I almost wanted to mount the thing on my living
room wall. I got the muffler and central resonator. The headers and cat
were a bit pricey!

Anyway, the stock exhaust came out with the aid of a chain type pipe cutter,
what a dumb design on the stock system. Muffler an resonator all one
piece....
The SS slipped in, perfect fit. The tips fit in the bumper cut-out perfect.
My main concern was that I didn't want a system that was to loud, or that
had the dreaded 2-3k cabin resonance. No worries! The systems sounds
sweet, just a low, throaty growl, which can only be heard with the windows
down. Not much louder than stock, but a much different tone. The wife rode
in the car, and hasn't even noticed yet, and I'm not going to tell her!

Power-wise, it certainly doesn't seem to have hurt, and it feels like the
motor revs more freely. No loss of bottom end, and may have improved it a
bit, as the usual power hit at about 4K seems a bit less noticeable. All in
all, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

Just installed my supersprint exhaust on my 95 GTI VR6 (75000km). I am
very satisfied, it sounds great, no 2000-3000 buzzing. Ordered the rear
muffler and over the axle pipe and "cat". The car has allot more pull in
first and second, actually ALLOT more pull, scared the *^*&#$ out of me the
first time.

The only problem I had was with the location of the tip of the muffler. It
does not stick out past the lower valence. It is centered great but is
should be moved rear about an inch. I think I will have to get some metal
foil to protect the lower valence, any suggestions?

Ordered it from RPI, no complaints about them. Delivery was a bit
difficult but I guess that is to be expected. The North American
distributor BMP was not very helpful for Volkswagens, when I called them
for their
experience they told me to call another tuner that used Supersprint systems
on Volkswagens before.

See ya

Mark.

hey folks-
just got my Supersprint installed this morning. Almost didn't. After I took
it out of the box, I just sat there, staring at it. Truly a work of art. The
materials are Grade-A. All black with chrome tips.
Anyway, I bought the DTM-tipped muffler and the connecting pipe. Passed on
the resonator. It hooked directly up to the factory cylindrical resonator,
eliminating the pre-muffler (suitcase) and muffler. It sounds fantastic.
Nice throaty rumble. Very nice sounding, even while inside the car. That
nasty resonance you get with chopping the suitcase isn't there. Just a nice
rumble in the background all the way up to 3k rpm. Throttle response is most
definitely improved. Hard to say what other performance changes have taken
place, since the weather right now is not conducive to open road driving at
the moment (unless I break out the water wings). I'll let you know soon. It
looks great too. Those dual chrome upswept tips look purty cool.
A side note: for some odd reason, the hangers did not line up correctly for
the muffler. If they were left alone, the tips would not have cleared the
rear valance. As it was, the installer had to work a little magic with the
rear hanger, but all came out well. Any other Supersprinters have this prob?
BTW, the muffler and pipe, while heavy, still weighed less than the suitcase
by itself!
I'll get some pictures taken soon and post them on my site.

All I can say is what great exhaust system!

Hey All,
Well I finally installed the Supersprint exhaust. I ordered the mid-
pipe back with the resonator and the dual 90mm round tip muffler. I had *no*
trouble clearing the rear valence panel at all. Took me all of 1 hour. (maybe
not even that). Love the sound and the system looks so SWEET! I am sure the
engine breaths easier now and definitely revs more freely. I didn't lose any
low end torque and believe me I am very sensitive to that part of the
powerband so I am *sure*. I would have to say it's worth the 5 hp that most
systems provide. I would recommend this system to anyone who wants the best
there is. I want to thank Ben T. for recommending it to me and making sure
that I knew just what a high quality system it really is. He didn't lie. This
system, although not stainless, is heavy enough to last me several years. I do
believe there is stainless rock wool used in the high heat areas of the
muffler, so that helps. The tips are absolutely awesome and complement the car
greatly. They fit *perfectly* in the opening of the rear fascia. If anyone has
any questions or comments feel free to contact me. Also thanks goes out to
Peter at CFI Motorsports who gave us the good group purchase price. His number
is: 1-800-989-9260 or 973-989-9260. That's all...

Believe it or not, you will find that your system will get a little quieter
with time. I have pretty much the same setup as you (DTM instead of Magnum).
I installed it last fall and have noticed a slight decrease in resonance
since then.

Friends,

Yesterday I received my Supersprint exhaust system from via UPS from
Ron's Parts out of Canada. Todd from Air & Water turned me on to them as
the
retailer of the Supersprint systems. [...]

The sound is louder than stock but not quit a loud as the Techtonics system,
and no buzzing in my head. Depending on how hard you press the gas, the
louder
the system gets, stomp on it and the intake and exhaust growl like a grizzly
bear
and you are propelled to 80+ quite a bit faster than before with the stock
system.
