I just got the Remus exhaust catalog from CEC Wheels last Friday and thought
I'd share what I know/found out.
The catalog show different setups for the GTI-VR6 and the Jetta (Vento) VR6.
The GTI has a single resonator, a straight middle pipe and a muffler. The
Jetta OTOH has 2 resonators one in each of the first two pipes and then a
muffler.
I heard a Jetta VR6 with the Remus dual square tip at Waterfest. It was
subdued compared to many of the other exhausts I've heard. The twin
resonator setup probably explains why. That would also explain why this
system isn't boomy like the TT or ND systems.
I've had no experience with the GTI version and am curious to hear other
reactions to it.
But the fact that two different systems are offered explains the
contradictory impressions I saw from person posting last week.
