Digging for my trusty pi tape measure...
K&N Part # F030D6, aka: The P-Flo:
3 1/8" ID at mouth (MAF sensor end)
4 15/16" OD (filtered section)
[approx.] 3 1/2" ID (filtered section)
7 3/8" filtered section length
[approx.] 1/2" pleat depth
Now, to anticipate your next question... :-)
VW factory paper filter element:
7 3/8" filtered section (parallel to the pleats)
10" filtered section (across pleats)
2 7/8" ID filtered section, if rolled up into a P-flo.
3 3/8" ID at MAF sensor end, if rolled up like a P-flo.
1 7/8" pleat depth
Yes, you can take your factory air filter, roll it into a tube,
glue the seam, cap one end, and make your own P-flo. The only
difference in filtering surface is about two times the width of the
factory filter's gasket. The length of the filtered area of
both filters is identical!
