Just came from the underside of my car and this is what I found:

1. 2 DTM Style tips 3-1/4" each
2. 1 High Polished Muffler
3. 1 Resonator
4. The pipe Diameter is 2-1/4"

Bolts on to the Cat via a U-bolt and it is also a two piece assembly.

No 90º bends just a slight bend to go where the Suit case used to be between
the resonator and the Muffler.

Build quality and welding in top notch.

Cost From Eurotech here in Tampa was $685. www.eurotechracing.com.

As I said before it sounds great.

First of all, keep in mind the following is a very subjective thing. It's
been mentioned many times that this sort of mod is really a matter of
personal taste. I'm not about to argue with anyone over which exhaust is
better. If you're like me, and have the same taste/preference, then this
might benefit you in terms of which exhaust to get. With that in mind here
is my 2 cents..

I have this exaust, with the DTM style tips. It fits perfectly. The tips
unlike other exhaust systems are NOT removable however, which may be the
reason why I don't see very many GTI VR6's with this exhaust. The tips
flange out quite a bit and look rather flashy. When I got it installed at a
local muffler shop (Midas I believe) they absolutely loved it. The entire
thing is constructed from stainless steel, and it sounds great. It also gave
me a nice boost in power in the upper RPM range (4000+). When I pulled away
from the shop, most of the mechanics came outside to hear me take off :) So
I think it goes to show how impressive it sounds. I have never heard any
other exhaust (Borla, Techtonics) so I can't really say if this one sounds
any better. Although I have heard complaints from other people, that the
techtonics was in fact rather quite, so I'm surprised to hear people posting
how good it sounds. Even a few shops that sold the Techtonics and Neuspeed
said the Techtonics was rather subdued compared to the Neuspeed. The
Neuspeed exhaust has a nice deep rumble to it, but at idle it's relatively
quite, until you start to drive away, then you hear it roar. (In cabin noise
was maybe up 3dB with this exhaust, but most of the time I'm playing my
stereo so I don't pick up this extra noise. Some people that enjoy quite
rides might find this annoying after awhile. Personally I don't get the
appeal of wanting the car to be whisper quiet..just makes me sleepier at the
wheel <G>) IMHO this is the way it should sound. It has a nice deep rumble
that is *just* loud enough to attract attention, without being obnoxious.

Subject: [gti-vr6] Neuspeed Exhaust and Whipple Installed
Date: Thu, 11 Mar 1999 12:54:19 -0500

Last Saturday I installed the Neuspeed Exhaust and Whipple mount on my A3
GTI VR6 and would like to share some comments with the list, assuming
anyone cares.

Neuspeed Exhaust: This exhaust fits the GTI like OJ's leather gloves. It
was a pain to remove the stock system. I can't believe VW installs their
exhaust before the axles. The stock exhaust should be a two piece. Anyway I
had to cut the stock exhaust off the car. I felt really bad because it only
has 2000 miles on it. However, after removing the stock system, I was
surprise at the amount of rust on the stock system. The stock system
weighed in at 45 pounds and the Neuspeed weighed 26 pounds. The car exhales
so much better now. The engine is much more responsive. As for sound: it is
much louder than stock but the sound comes in at a low frequency. At cruise
it is quiet, but when you get on the throttle, it really lets everyone know
that you are not running a stock exhaust. For anyone who lives in the DC
area and wants to hear this exhaust, drop me a line.

Whipple Mount: If YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE, YOU MUST GET ONE. The car shifts so
much better. VW should have this as a stock component and maybe folks would
not complain about their vague shifter. All I need now is a short shifter
and VW shitty shifter is a memory.
