My engine computer has stopped working!! Please help me.

Symptoms: No fuel (pump not running)+ no spark = no go.
Also, the check engine light does not appear, even on the
    start-up self test.
Carcomp, etc, tools will not talk to the computer; can't
   establish a connection.

History: Many chip swaps, currently using the software supplied with
the AMS blower kit. ' Disclaimer: I do not believe that
their software in any way caused this malfunction.'
First happened 2 weeks ago. Luckily I was at my tuner of
choice helping my mechanic put harnesses into his
newly restored Beetle. I tried to start my car and nothing.
The owner of the shop came back down and helped fix it for
     me, free of charge.
Happened one other time before today and I knew just how to
      fix it.
           This time no go!!!

Diagnosis: Faulty connection between the comp module and the wiring
   harness.

How can I fix this for good? The first two times it was just a big hassle;
fixed by unplugging the harness then plugging it back in.
Now this method won't even work and the whole situation is turning into more
of a nightmare.

TIA for any advice the list can give to help rectify this situation,
Brendon

Sounds like one of the pins in the ECU connector fell off!! Take
a look at the harness end and
the ECU box to see if there's either a pin missing or stuck into
the female slot! Sometimes they
fall out and you have to manually repair it!! Happens to boxes
that are taken apart many times!!
You should be able to get new pin if it's lost - also look at the
board - be sure there are no metal
pieces on the board - if so.....bad = new ecu!
