The Corrado cat is not larger overall, but the inlet and outlet diameter of
the flange is larger so there is very little reversion of the exhaust flow
within the or due to the cat. If you remove your cat you will see that the
down pipe outlet that leads to the cat has a larger ID that the cat inlet.
The same is true of the cat outlet to the resonator of your exhaust system.
It's ID is smaller than the inlet to the first resonator. If you widen the
openings of the cat flanges to match the down pipe and resonator openings,
you will have a nice free flowing system, without the expense of a new cat.
The hard part is removing the flanges off the cat and putting them back on.
If you use a torch/welder to remove and install the flanges you run the risk
of damaging the monolithic blocks within the cat by over heating them.
