Okay, someone in the Houston area can feel free to just come slap me if
I'm being dumb but...

Last night it rained here for the first time since I have had my car.
When I went use my rear windshield washer, nothing came out.

As far as I can tell, there is only one windshield washer fluid reservoir
located in the front of the car. So if my rear windshield *washer*
doesn't work while my front one does, that would mean there is something
wrong with the pump, connections etc. to the rear wiper? I can hear the
pump running in the back when I push and hold the MFA stalk away from me,
but nothing comes out.

Anyone care to guess at it?

BTW: I checked the archives and didn't see anything like this. It's
almost the exact opposite of the problem with the bad relay. My
intermittent feature works fine, my washer doesn't.

Gabriel

Gabriel, I had this same problem with my 98' . Most likely your problem
is that you have the incorrect washer pump. Take a look at your washer
pump, located at the front lower portion of your bottle. There should be
a blue or white filter looking device attached to about one inch of
tubing. This is the line that feeds the rear washer. However, If you can
only trace one line from the pump to the front washers (Do this, it is
very simple and you don't have to disassemble anything) Then you have
received a pump assy. from a Cabrio. If this is the case, I would be
curious to know your build date to see if they are close to each other.
Good Luck. J.

Gabriel, What has happened on my '96 is that the cover for
the bolt/nut of the wiper assembly will pop off and cover up
the spray nozzle... Check to make sure that it is not being
obstructed in any way...

Try again. The last time I tried to use mine the same thing happened b/c I
had not used it in so long that all the fluid must have evaporated in the high
temps here (Dallas). Push a little longer and something should come out. If
not use a straight pin to make sure the openings aren't clogged w/dried
fluid/soap.

Mine did this too, so I pulled the plastic cover off entirely... and then
proceeded to break off the unprotected spray nozzle the next time I washed
it. Doh... good thing they're easy to replace.
