I know this is an odd question, but how do i fix my Cig. lighter? In
trying to fix my GF's lighter, i stuck a continuity tester into mine
to make sure the center was hot (it is) and accidentally touched the
side too....SPARK... no more work :( I tested the fuse in the fuse
panel and it is fine. I even replaced it just to make sure. What
else should i try?

Gavin

There is an inline fuse somewhere behind the center console on the way over
to the fuse box. Probably have to take the center section with the climate
control out to get to it. I don't know if it is in the same place all the
time, but trace the wires from there.

On my car, the fuse for the cigarette lighter is actually up on top of the
panel above the relays in an add-on looking fuse holder. It was a PITA to
find! It was blue (10A?) and actually had electrical tape over the top of
it! Looking in the Bentley, position 22 (right most position) is labeled as
the lighter. It was nothing of the sort on my car.

Hope this helps, I felt your pain at one time.

Luke, you rule!! You were absolutely right about the fuse. I dropped
my fuse panel down and sure enough, there was a 15a fuse up at the top
all by itself and it was blown in a bad way. I replaced it and.... we
had power to the cig. lighter. I fixed it before my whirlwind trip to
MD because radar detectors are illeagal (which is hardwired in my car)
in Virginia, but CB's aren't. Which BTW saved me twice on the way up.
So i defintely owe you a beer for the help.

Thanks
Gavin
