I've had to fix one of my REAR power window mechanisms before, and I have
examined the front... Basically, there's a metal track that runs up and down,
in the middle of your door. On this track sits a cradle that holds the window.
 The cradle basically is two clamps, and these two clamps clamp onto the
window, one towards the front, and one towards the rear. You can adjust your
window height by loosening these clamps, moving the glass, and then tightening
them.

...To me, it sounds like maybe the the rear clamp has gotten a little loose,
and the window has slid downward some. ...So, I'd go ahead and "tear into" the
door and check it out! (In my opinion, removing the door panel is a much more
difficult task than working on the window regulator!)

FYI: I've had FIVE (yes, 5!) window regulators go bad on my '95 GLX! Twice,
they replaced it under warranty. The third time, they gave me "goodwill
assistance", and only made me pay for the labor. The last two times, I had to
fix it myself. (No, it hasn't been the same window each time.) ...The last
repair involved (believe it or not) epoxy and chicken wire! ...Seems to be
working better than stock!  ;->
