Got the gauges pretty much installed in the car now. Went with the new VDO
Vision style gauges. The illumination on these is killer! The needle
lites up too.
Went with Volts, Oil T and Oil P. INstalled them into a Zender gauge panel
that tilts the gauges towards the driver. Looks nice. I put the panel in
the place of that storage box above the radio. The box just pulls right
out once you've taken out the radio. A very minor bit of trimming is
needed to the center consoleso the gauge panel doesn't bow out.
The bummer is that the guage panel doesn't sit flush to the edges of the
center console, it sits about 1/4 inch in. The gauge faces themselves sit
flush to the radio and center console edges. If the panel sat flush, then
the gauge faces would protrude, so I geuss I prefer it this way. The cup
holders still work normally.
Haven't yet installed the Oil T and Oil P senders yet, I'm having those put
in at SRS in a few weeks...
