Kevin,

Just buy some of the little plastic clips that sit on the end of the
seat rail guides. It takes about 5 mins. to install. I find that after
the guide has fallen off a couple of times, it's more and more likely to
fall off, as it no longer snaps into the guide as snuggly as before. I
don't have a part number or cost for you, my dealer gave me a couple for
free!

Little plastic thingys on the part of the seat that slides in the rails
break often. Get new plastic thingys and snap 'em in. Any VW parts guy
worth a damn knows exactly what you want without even looking it up.

The seat rails (chassis side) are long c shaped profiles. There is a c
shaped plastic glide between the seat mount (seat side) and seat rail. If
this glide comes off the seat will wobble, shake, and make nasty noises.

Slide the seat forward and remove the stop at the end of the center rail
(seat side).
Remove any covers over the rear ends of the seat rails (chassis side).
Slide the seat back until the front drops down.
Tilt it back and disconnect any electrical connections.
If there is a yellow connector it is for the seat airbag. The battery must
be disconnected to avoid an airbag light while disconnecting the yellow.
That light can only be turned off with vag-com or by the dealership.
Slide the seat all the way back.
The seat mounts will lift up through cut outs in the back of the rails.
Be careful as the mounts may snag on the carpet.
Installation is reverse of assembly. Don't forget to reinstall the front
stop.

My passenger side seat is loose as well, but it seems to be down in the
track someplace. It makes quite a bit of noise when the seat isn't
occupied. It's on my list of things to do, but just haven't been out to
play in the garage lately.
