I'm even more interested in this idea now...

So, what years did Recaros come in VWs? I believe it's:

1989 Jetta Wolfsburg Ed. 16V (these have the power ones - great
    seats!!!)
1990-1992 Jetta 16Vs
1987-1992 Golf GTIs (16V, of course)
1990-1994 Corrados (all, in U.S.)?????

It would be nice to match an older Recaro seat with my interior
color (black), and to find an older Recaro that's NOT power
(if possible - as those seats as HEAVY).

The next question is, what, if there's such a thing, is the part
number for the proper seat track adapter for our cars for
these seats?

I'm going to e-mail Recaro itself to see if they can (or are willing)
to come up with this.

Jud.

Jud, try these part numbers from Recaro. 85.78.17 left side and
85.78.27 right side. I believe there is mention of these adapters in the
archive also, something about some mods you need to make them work properly.
They are about $120 a peace, suggested retail. Recaro Customer Service

almost,

You're right about the Jettas and Golfs. My '90 GLI has wonderful cloth
recaros with power seat height. my 92 corrado has sport seats with good
side and seat bolsters but not like the recaros. Actually I find they
support me as well as the recaros in the Jetta even though the bolsters
are smaller. Canadian Corrados had the option of cloth recaros with
electric up/down. I bet Europe did too. Also got a 2.9l Corrado, but
that's a whole other story!
