I have the Momo Corse set, and I really like 'em. Installation isn't the
best, but is it for any? They are machined aluminum and look really
sweet. Also, it puts the brak and gas close enough to use the side of
your foot.

i have the Niken covers on brake, gas and clutch and find them
very helpful with heel toe braking/shifting and also provide better
traction over the stock rubber ones... look pretty cool too, IMO..

well, on the subject of heel-toeing and pedal covers, I have the Momo
aluminum pedal covers on my '91 G60 Gti and it makes it MUCH easier to heel
toe. i looked at a lot of the pedal covers and decided on the Momo's for a
coupla reasons. #1 They mount with bolts, not those silly clips #2 They're
inexpensive #3 They're the best looking ones (IMHO) I didn't get the dead
pedal not really enough space for it I thought, but it is available.

Heel &Toe and Pedal Covers

[...]
Racing pedals are hard to install on our VR6's. The center or brake pedal
does not have an upper lip like most cars. The stock rubber pedal cover is
pressed in to the center of the pedal. It Doesn't wrap around it like your
typical cover. When I installed my carbon fiber and titanium Razo pedals, I
actually had to spot weld the rear mounting bracket from the aftermarket pedal
onto the stock pedal. I've seen them installed other ways, but feel that they
for safety, they should be spot welded on. Big difference in ease of heel and
toe afterwards, though. Well worth it.

Syncros have obsoleted double clutching. You can do it for fun, but most
racers that I've met don't use this technique anymore. A smooth operating
tranny will respond well to the heel and toe technique. If it doesn't, you
may need a rebuild (new synchros).

I have them on my personal car. I decided to try them with the rubber knob
option about a year ago. Installation required some other stainless bolts
(longer) and some drilling of the pedals (notice some are plastic, so drills
like butter... ;-)
Anyhow, I'm very pleased with them. Had them for a long time and I like them
as much as my previous Razo pedal covers. Seems to be just the right amount
of slip and grip (with the rubber knobs) for normal driving. Anyhow, if you
need info, pricing, etc, just scream.

I have the Razo magnesium pedal covers and even when my feet are wet they
are not slippery. If you have fairly large feet they will take some getting
used to, but they provide much, much better pedal feel. The Razo pedals
surface area is about twice that of the stock pedals for the clutch and
brake so this is understandable. It also makes it possible to do heel toe
downshifting. Pep Boys sells a similar looking pedal for $20 which is
better than the $60 or $80 the Razo's cost if you want to save some money.
You need to remove the stock rubber pedal pad on the brake pedal to install
the covers. Also I noticed that the lower lip of the Razo cover for the
clutch pedal was leaving an indentation in the carpet so I hacked some off
w/a dremel tool to make sure the clutch was depressing all the way.

I have the RAZO carbon fiber units..

Did you also have a heck of a time getting the brake pedal on? The
stock P stem is just so thick that the retaining plates need MAJOR
mickey-mousing to get them to fit!

I'm using the Niken Pedal Covers. Install was easy, and you just remove one
or more of the stock rubber thingies to make the fit better. They get
removed with most pedal-cover kits I've heard of on this list.

If you are going to get some I would steer clear of the clip on type and go
for a bolt on type. I have cast aluminum Sparco covers and they work well, a
little more work getting them on but you dont have to worry about your brake
pedal flying off in the middle of a panic situation. Plus they are only $20
or $25 bucks!!

Another opinion on the pedal cover subject. Personally I felt that heel and
toeing was difficult on my VR6 when I first got it, compared to my '95 Four
cylinder Golf. That car had the pedals perfectly set up. On the VR6,
however, the brakes were much more powerful, and the pedal didn't need to be
depressed as far to the floor, making it difficult for me to line my foot up
properly on the brake and gas. Adding a Momo Corse pedal to just the gas
pedal (NOT the brake or clutch) solved that - the brake and gas were on the
same plane again when both were being depressed.
I think it really is a personal issue here - whatever works for you.

I have the OMP pedal set and these are also bolt on. Yes, you do have to
remove the rubber pieces. The gas pedal is stiffer because it doesn't just
wrap around the pad there is also a middle rubber/plastic piece that snaps
into a hole in the pedal. Just apply some pressure and it should pop out.

Be careful when placing the pedals. I had to move my clutch pedal a little
higher (re-drill a second hole) because the bottom of the metal OMP pedal
started to wear a hole in my carpet as I pushed the clutch in with each
shift.

Hope this helps.

My Momo Corse wear the carpet in a spot too, but they are a lot better than
the stock pedals. Also watch that the new pedals don't catch your floormat
(test the full travel a couple of times before driving).

BTW the Corse were a pain in the ass to mount, but worthwhile.

I took the liberty of positioning my Momo pedal set with the gas pedal a
little closer and higher to the brake pedal for 'heel-toe' downshifting.

Like noted below, thoroughly check to make sure all pedals don't clip the
floormats or other stuff. B/c my floormats like to slide up sometimes, the
brake pedal use to get stuck behind it - - well, I didn't waste any time
cutting the floormat.
