Here goes...in the 'olden days' of coatings and paints, the product cured
(hardened) slowly. Waxing too soon would cover the paint and plug the
'pores' casuing minor blistering of the paint since the remaining solvents
were trapped under the wax. I have never seen this happen and never heard
it happen to anyone I know...it may be a fable.
Today most paint processes from the factory are 'thermally' cured (IR
radiation) and pretty much set up once the car leaves the factory.
Go ahead and wax that new car, just don't use an abrasive polish/wax
combination. Try something like a glaze followed by a 'pure' wax. Both 3M
and Meguires (spelling???) have excellent systems available for this. If
you have questions, try getting the product from an autobody paint retail
store, ask for help from the counter staff.
