I use the Auto Zone ones without any such incident! E mail me if you need the
CORRECT part number.

This is really wierd. Anyone else have this problem with theirs??

It won't LAUNCH into the air! Your car has what's known as a secondary hood
latch to catch the hood when you pull the release lever. Besides at the angle
the hood is in when released, even if you had NO secondary latch the hood
won't FLY up. I have to pull the hood up to the point where the supports 'take
over'.

There is a fix to this.

They are overpriced and I think you need to do more research as to why you are
having this problem when I have never met anyone else who has. You must be
doing something wrong. Please e-mail me directly and I will try to help you if
you want.
