Brian..
i had a similar problem w/ mine just this weekend when i put
the old ones from the wreck on the car. one side was way
loose.. i backed it out and found that the metal piece in
the fender kinda stripped out.
went to the hardware store and found a little black flat,
clip kinda doo dad that's got a hole in it and its cut and
bent so that a screw will thread through it. sorry for the
vauge description but i can't recall the name if it even had
one.
if you take off the splash guard there's a little plug
underneath. you can see the hole from there.. i taped the
piece to a pencil and held it up there until it threaded.
and voila.. holds great so far..
i'd also recommend not using the washers that came with it
and use some lock washers. i used the curved kind that
flatten out under pressure..
i think it holds even better now.. i also painted the top
parts upto the little seam black so the last 3/4" or so is
red. looks real spiffy..
good luck
chris
